Sol Campbell: Macclesfield Town
Make his debut as Macc manager TONIGHT at promotion-chasing Exeter City.

After years of politicking about football managers and colour, he has finally been given his chance. Macclesfield are the WORST club in all the leagues. Even we know that.

Does WHO wish Sol well? He is an ex-Hammer after all.

Re: Sol Campbell: Macclesfield Town
It’s a hard job at that level because the players are basically shit.
To my mind anyone over about 22 who is playing League 2 football shouldn’t be a professional footballer.
Get a proper job

If I was in charge at that level I’d get a bunch of kids rejected from higher levels and work with them.

I don’t particularly wish Sulzeer Campbell well or ill. Just hope he doesnt go home at half time

i just hope none of the players call him names, his brother is a bit sensitive :.)

Re: Sol Campbell: Macclesfield Town
He's doomed to failure. It doesn't matter which job he gets, it doesn't matter how much money he has to spend - someone who calls themselves "one of the greatest minds in football" and spends his time talking about how brilliant he is is never going to succeed.

He could play four goalkeepers in midfield and he still wouldn't see why he's wrong. He'll definitely do something "innovative".

Re: Sol Campbell: Macclesfield Town
He was West Ham Yoof before Spurs Cheezy.

Only played one half? No. Wikipedia says (so must be true):

Campbell had a short spell at West Ham United, beginning his career as a striker.[6] He left the Youth programme at Upton Park after a coach joked to him that Campbell would be pleased to hear that the West Indies were beating England at cricket; Campbell took this to be a racial slur.

Re: Sol Campbell: Macclesfield Town
I'm not mocking him btw. Seems he had a super-strict upbringing. His dad sounds a plank. He was barely allowed to speak as a child. It might explain some of his "issues." I hope he irons himself out, what?

Sol Campbell's biggest fan is Sol Campbell.

Never trust a man who's opinion of himself tops the opinions that anyone else has of him.

A general rule of thumb that you can never go wrong with.

He’ll blame someone else when it all goes pete tong. Which of course, it inevitably will.

The difference between Campbell and Ince is that one has a EUFA pro coaching licence and one does not.

Not sure I’d trust him around the youth players tbh

Re: Sol Campbell: Macclesfield Town
Seems he did that thing that new managers do and sat in the stand for his first game.
So no wins yet.

That said Allardyce claimed Everton’s win over us when he sat in the crowd while David Unsworth took the team.
